The Joyful Noise Band has been invited to be the featured musical
group for Horizon to Horizon Evangelistic Association’s events
scheduled to take place in
Wales this
coming July and August 2008!
The Joyful Noise
Band is a part of CrossFire Student Ministries of the La Vernia United
Methodist Church. The band will be leading praise and worship,
providing special music and sharing testimonies. Evangelist and
Pastor Phillip Hefner from Universal City UMC will be giving the
Gospel message.
The
Joyful Noise Band has been the youth ministry band at Wednesday night
youth meetings for the past year and a half. These young people have
gone on mission trips to Lydia Patterson Institute in
El Paso and
First UMC in Junction. They also played at a fall festival at St.
Andrews UMC in San Antonio and have led worship at two Fifth Quarter
events after La Vernia home football games. Even though this is a
young band, we think God has opened up a great opportunity for them to
participate in this mission trip.
The dates are Saturday,
July 26th
to
Monday, August 4th,
2008.
On the
trip, there will be eight adults plus the ten youth members of the
band. The cost for our trip is $20,000, which pays for round trip
airfare from
Houston International Airport to
London Heathrow Airport. From there we will be taken to Wales by
van. Most other expenses will be covered by the participating
churches in Wales.
With
this vision before you, we would like to extend an invitation to you
to partner with us to help make this mission trip a reality for our
youth. We are seeking help with funding. Our budget depends on the
contributions collected plus our own individual and group fundraising.
