La Vernia United Methodist Men

The La Vernia United Methodist Men strive to support the Body of Christ through our actions.  We lead ministry efforts for several ministries and work to support all the ministries of the church.  The La Vernia UMM serves as a conduit where men can come together for fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and study to grow in their Christian walk with other men.

Monthly Fellowship

To find out more about us, or just to enjoy a good breakfast, please come join us for our monthly Men’s Fellowship breakfast.   These are held the third Saturday of each month in the Family Life Building at 7:30am.  Join us as we share a meal, fellowship, and learning with other Christian men.

Under the Bridge Homeless Ministry

We lead our local effort of outreach to the San Antonio homeless community.  This ministry is done in conjunction with Crossfire and Twice Blest Thrift Ministries.  On the third Saturday of every other month we serve a meal we have prepared and distribute clothing to the homeless under the Commerce Street Bridge.  We work with an existing ministry, Seek The Lost Ministries, and their pastor to lead worship service and deliver a message to those gathered there.

Adopt A Highway

We participate in the Texas Adopt A Highway program by conducting highway cleanups along a designated section of Hwy 775 several times a year.

Shepherd’s Gate Outreach

Once a year we reach out to help build up an inner-city church.  We support a BBQ fundraiser each year for Shepherd’s Gate United Methodist Church on the San Antonio Southwest side.  UMM members donate the meat and BBQ for the members of Shepherd’s Gate Church’s annual Spring Fundraiser.

Annual Family Trip to Port Aransas

The third weekend of June each year, the UMM plan and coordinate a trip for families of the church to Port Aransas for fishing, golf, or beach lounging.  Click Here to Download our Brochure.
