| Meet Our Wesley Nurse,
Cheryl Cardenas, RN Serving the La Vernia United Methodist Church and the Stockdale United Methodist Church. The mission of Methodist Healthcare Ministries is to serve by improving the physical, mental and spiritual health of those least served in the Southwest Texas Conference area of The United Methodist Church. Since 1996, Methodist Healthcare Ministries has been helping people throughout South Texas lead healthier lives. It does this through medical and dental clinics, support services that include counseling, case management and social services, as well as through nursing and healthy programs that provide services from area churches. MHM also works with other groups to understand the health and social services needs of people without health insurance who live in local communities. Then Methodist Healthcare Ministries tries to make sure that many of these needs are met. These services provided to people are done to honor God. |

| Free Exercise on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays @ 9am. Also Free Night Zumba on Monday and Thursday @ 7pm | Food Pantry Health Screen: Usually once a month at the La Vernia Food Pantry, varying dates. |
| Appointments or office walk-ins accepted Monday through Thursdays for individual screenings, health information, or any questions. | Easy Exercises for all Ages: Chair type exercises every Wednesday (excluding holidays) in the Family Life Building at 1pm after Aging Gracefully.
Also, Stockdale Easy Exercises for all ages Tues. and Thurs. from 10 am to 11 am in the Stockdale UMC family life building. All are welcome to come to this as well. |

 The Wesley Nurse Health Ministries® offers health and social services to communities through an RN who is based out of a church; it is now in 70 church sites in San Antonio and throughout South Texas. Health Education is also offered to clients and the general community by nurse educators. By being based in a church, the needs of a specific congregation and community can be better addressed. The collaboration of church, nurse, and community is the core of the Wesley Nurse Health Ministries model.
